DCCF Supports Over 30 Local Non-profits

Posted Friday September 29, 2023

Over 30 local non-profit groups have joined the Doniphan County Community Foundation in a joint effort to make their communities and county a better place to live.  These funds look forward to donations at the annual Give Where You Live Event to finance their goals of enhancing life in Doniphan County.

KEEPING DONIPHAN COUNTY MONEY HERE IN DONIPHAN COUNTY while working to enhance the goals of the local non-profits is a major aspiration of DCCF.  The annual Give Where You Live (GWYL) enables local residents to support the DCCF funds with monetary gifts that are enhanced with philanthropic dollars (Match Money) provided by corporate and private sponsors.  So, a gift of $10 or $25 or any amount earns a percentage of the Match Money for the designated fund until the Match Money is used.  Knowing that Match Money is available to add to the original donation is a great motivator for local donors to support the funds during GWYL.

DCCF board members are working to get philanthropic dollars from corporate and private sponsors now.  Their goal is to raise enough Match Money that DCCF can promise local donors will earn a larger percentage of Match Money than ever before.  DCCF hopes to announce specifics about how much Match Money has been pledged by corporate and private sponsors soon; the amount of Match Money pledged will determine what percent of a dollar each local donation may earn.  Specific details will be provided as soon DCCF knows the amount of Match Money available.

For now though, DCCF wants to remind residents of a few of the notable accomplishments of our funds: improving parks and recreation facilities, beautifying Main Streets, hosting and supporting community events, providing scholarships to graduating seniors, renovating and repairing buildings and churches, working with physical and mental health issues, helping foster and adoptive children, providing library service for all across the county, sending monthly books to children from birth until 5th birthday, providing health options like drive-through flu clinics, providing fire and safety protection, and nurturing many other community needs.

Obviously, the funds of DCCF are working to make Doniphan County a better place to live.  Think about supporting your favorite DCCF funds on GWYL Day!  Current funds of DCCF include Amberwell Hospital, Brown County Humane Society Fund, Denton Community Enhancement, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, DC Chamber Events and Promotions, DC Chamber Scholarship, DC Public and Home Health, DC 4-H, DC Community Foundation, DC Fair Association, DC Fire District #2, DC Growth and Development, DC Pet Rescue, Doniphan Darlings, Elwood United Community Church, Highland Christian Church Improvement, Highland City Community, Highland Community College Foundation, Highland Pride, Jack and Bernadine Masters Family, Kaden’s Kloset, Kanza Mental Health, Library District #1, NEK-CAP, Northeast KS Area Agency on Aging, Richard M.
